Not all Medicare covers this service. Primarily Part B offers this benefit as it is designated to medical insurance. It will only cover the cost if it is deemed medically necessary and when an alternative means of transportation could be hazardous to your health.

Some of the medical circumstances deemed necessary for an ambulance would be if you are in shock, unresponsive, or bleeding heavily. However, if you are dealing with a broken leg or injured, it is not enough reason to warrant an ambulance. 

For those with end-stage renal disease and similar conditions, Medicare will cover the cost of an ambulance to transport these individuals to and from a dialysis center. They will also cover transportation to a hospital or skilled nursing facility. 

Medicare will only pay for an ambulance to take you to the nearest medical facility that’s able to provide whatever care you need. If you ask to be taken to a facility that is further away, then Medicare will only cover the distance between your pickup point and the closest facility available.

There are options for non-medical ambulance services. If your health needs monitoring, traveling via a normal vehicle could prove to be hazardous to your condition. Another need for ambulance service is if you need to be confined to a bed and can’t sit or be in a wheelchair and need medical services during the trip that are only available in an ambulance, such as IV medication or monitoring. If your physician writes an order stating an appropriate reason, then you can also receive a non-emergency ambulance service. 

Whether your ambulance trip is a non-emergency or emergency service, you are still responsible for a portion of the costs unless you have supplement coverage which will pay your portion. 

Medicare’s Ridefare

Medicare does indeed cover ambulance services but under certain circumstances. Regardless of whether you have a plan that includes ambulance coverage, there is still a small price. This cost can be covered, leaving you with no need to spend a penny if you have Medicare Supplement Coverage. Out of the Medicare programs, if you premeditated that you want ambulance coverage, your best choice would be to enroll in Part B. Adele has stated she never followed any diet to lose weight. Shutting down the notion of any intermittent fasting or being on the ‘sirtfood diet’. Saying that, if anything, she eats more now that she works out so hard. 

As it appears, Adele’s exercise routine has been the primary source of her weight loss, and when we look at her routine, it is easy to see why this is highly likely. 

Her routine involves working out three times a day, every day, and doing weight exercise in the morning. Then Boxing or going on hikes in the afternoon. Then finally Cardio in the evening. This is quite a lot of exercise and is likely only possible thanks to the guidance of Adele’s personal trainer Greg Miele. 

While Adele’s routine is the most loosely structured, it’s clear that her motivation and reason for wanting to lose weight were the driving factors behind her transformation – This surely gives the clear takeaway that we need to do it for the right reasons, for our health and well-being. And as long as we are consistent and motivated, we can reach our goals just as she has.

We have heard the term ‘ meditation ‘ being bandied around for some years now, it has made its way into mainstream conversation, and we come across it almost daily on digital media, talk shows, podcasts, via adverts for apps on our phones, in movies and even on the radio.

This relaxed acceptance is a profound change in attitude and general misconception that was widely held by most people in many countries around the world until at least the late 1960s, when global culture underwent massive upheaval spawning the emergence of social consciousness, the civil rights movement, not only in America but across the globe. 

Added to this were the rise of feminism, environmentalism, the beginning of gay rights, and the burgeoning hippie counter-culture. The schism between the socially accepted norms of the more conservative 1950’s clashed violently with the curiosity of the new generation. It was from this cauldron of mistrust and distaste, born out of fear of change that the practice of Meditation was unfairly considered and labeled to be either satanic, for ‘those weed smoking hippies’, a form of mind control used by the enemies of the West from the cold war or even as something only slightly dodgy foreigners or cult leaders used to lead good, clean living youth astray. Thankfully, how far we have come, although perhaps still not far enough.

What Then, is Meditation

I can think of at least 12 “types” of Meditation off the top of my head. Still, to break it down slightly, there are forms of philosophical Meditation, religious Meditation, transcendental Meditation, mindfulness meditation, visualization meditation, and focussed Meditation. Perhaps another way to understand what Meditation is. To put it in a simple, pure form would be to call it contemplation, pondering, directed or focussed thought, or reflecting. After all, a rose is still a rose by any other name.

What is the Point of Meditating?

If nothing else, learning most forms of Meditation will significantly help you to manage your stress levels (which could reduce your raging cortisol levels, a good thing for weight loss), bring a sense of calmness, and induce relaxation, which in turn frees your body to sit in resting homeostasis, a wonderful treat for your bodies various systems to balance, repair and to be more functional. Alas, Meditation alone is unlikely to offer you a miraculous weight loss solution, but it can be highly effective in supporting and enhancing your weight loss journey. Meditation practice aims to facilitate a sense of peace and calm, helps you slow down your racing thoughts, plus you learn to be still, look at, and understand any of your negative thoughts, and then let them go.

Excess weight and unhealthy lifestyles are not only physical problems; they are often symptoms of deeper, underlying emotional issues that need to be looked at, healed, and then let go of.

In this regard, regular meditation practice can significantly help you move towards a more happy, stable, and integrated version of yourself. For example, if you believe that you are not beautiful but that you are also unworthy of being loved for who you are, you may struggle to shift those extra pounds as you need emotional support to heal and learn to love yourself. Once that happens – and it is not always an easy or quick process, you would be amazed at how your body, mind, and soul respond, and everything else just starts to become easier for you. There are so many options available if you want to investigate this yourself. You can download various apps for your phone, there are often classes at community centers, and you may decide a mindfulness retreat would suit you or see a private teacher or therapist.

  • Guided Meditation: This is led by a guide or teacher who uses descriptive word imagery to lead you to form mental pictures that you find helpful or relaxing. You could use this to ‘see’ yourself as slim, healthy, and happy.  
  • Loving Kindness Meditation: is usually practiced sitting comfortably and relaxed. You would breathe deeply and then say the words, “May I be happy, May I be well, May I be safe, May I be peaceful and at ease.” You will direct this loving-kindness to yourself for a while and then repeat the mantra, replacing the “I” with “you” while picturing a loved one who needs kind thoughts. This Meditation works towards being kind to yourself, which is helpful when you are dieting and have perhaps had a bad day or overindulged. This works well as once you have learned this form, you can use it anywhere and anytime you want, although I suggest perhaps saying the words in your head should you be in a public place!
  • Visualization Meditation: could be uniquely aligned with your weight loss goals, as you will learn to be still and calm before learning how to visualize yourself with your desired outcome. You can create a movie about You and the life you want to lead!
  • Mindfulness Meditation: is perhaps one of the forms that may take slightly longer to master but is very well worth the time and effort for the benefits you will derive. Mindfulness Meditation is the process of being fully present with your thoughts. Being mindful means being aware of what we are doing and what we are, but not reacting to what’s happening around us. You observe your thoughts and emotions but let them pass without judgment. This can be done anywhere, at any time of day, even on your commute to work. This can be so helpful when you are feeling discouraged regarding your weight loss, and it will help you understand what is going on within your mind and emotions, thus giving you the chance to overcome blockages that may be slowing your progress.

There are, as previously mentioned, many forms of Meditation. However, it is such a vast and interesting subject that you would only benefit from further research, plus your dinner conversation could get a lot more interesting!

On a more serious note, any form of meditation you choose to try for yourself, either through apps. Podcasts or teachers will only enhance your daily life, which in itself will make a start to your weight loss journey so much easier. If this is all utterly foreign to you, chat to people about it, ask questions and try to find a teacher or guide who can help you on your way. It is often gentler on yourself to take lessons from an experienced guide or therapist as sometimes deep, painful thoughts and memories rise to the surface, and you would benefit from the presence of an empathetic coach. If this is not possible, perhaps reach out to a trusted friend or family member to join you and support you.

Meditation no longer carries the same stigma that it did in those dark old days of ignorance, which means that these days you can go boldly, bravely, and with enthusiasm towards an engaging, enlightening and essentially an adventure to discover who you are and who you want to be. Use the guidance of Meditation to lead you to create the new version of yourself that You want to live, your new reality. See yourself as the healthy, slim, active, and happy person you will be after all of your hard work and lifestyle changes that you are learning to implement.

After fighting her illness for years, Shailene has finally stated that she is on “the tail end” of her illness, which can be very exciting. The actress has learned a new skill: not caring what other people think. This has been the main reason behind her healing process.

Although Shailene had been very sick in her early 20’s, she now feels very grounded, rooted, and clear. She remembers her struggles whilst shooting the divergent movies and saying no to many different opportunities because of her illness. She had questioned herself and her health for years, but she is now doing better with improved health.

Doctors are still unable to find the cause of why she became so ill. However, this information has not stopped people from making their conclusions and telling the world that weight-loss regimes are dangerous and should be avoided. 

While it can be agreed that some weight-loss strategies endanger a person’s health, it seems that this influencer hadn’t taken any unhealthy steps to boost her weight loss.

Clooney states that he believes it could have been his diet that landed him in hospital. He says that he might have been too focused on losing weight quickly and neglected his health and wellbeing. It is obvious that quick weight loss can be dangerous.

A restrictive diet landed actor Ashton Kutcher in the hospital twice with pancreatitis. He was preparing to play Steve Jobs in a then-upcoming film and followed a very restricted diet. Mila Kunis has come forth and explained how restrictive this diet had been and told various sources that at one point, his only source of nutrients had been grapes.

Ashton had tried to follow the eccentric diet of Steve Jobs, causing him almost the same fate as well. This diet is completely plant-based and consists only of fruit and sometimes vegetables. According to Jobs’ biographer, he would often eat the same fruit or vegetable for several weeks.

Celine’s teenage years were healthy and happy, she began performing and recording French songs, and in 1982 she won the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival. After she won the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest held in Ireland, Celine Dion became internationally known. Her new day had come, and her new life had begun.

Following her win in Ireland, Celine Dion’s life began to change radically. She was now 19 years old, turning 20. It was time to reveal to her family the love between herself and her long-time manager Rene Angelil. However, this knowledge would be kept only for five years amongst the family and close friends.

During this time, she disappeared from the public eye for a few months, a risk her manager felt worth taking as he believed in her, and he did not doubt that her fans wouldn’t forget her. He knew she was destined to be a star. He had previously mortgaged his house to finance her first album.

Celine used this time to improve her English at the renowned Ecole Berlitz. She also had vocal training plus lessons in dance and movement ( she is passionate about dance to this day)

It was decided that a complete hair and wardrobe make-over was necessary, including dental surgery to correct her teeth, which delighted Celine after all the bullying she had endured because of them. It was 1989, and Celine Dion was young, in love, and embarking on her Incognito Tour when disaster struck. During one of the concerts, she badly injured her voice. The consulting specialist issued a scary request: Not to use her vocal cords at all for three weeks (not even to whisper) or have immediate surgery. Celine and Rene opted against surgery, and after a long three weeks, Celine could start vocal lessons and voice training. This was very disappointing for them both as concerts had to be canceled, there was time lost, plus Celine had to start over and relearn how to use her vocal cords. Was this the beginning of health issues that would bother Celine Dion throughout the years to come?

Romance, Marriage and No 1 Hits

The 1990s were exciting and fulfilling years for Celine Dion. She was falling deeper in love with Rene and him with her. Celine and Rene demonstrated that they were indeed a power couple to be reckoned with. Their work ethic and commitment to the music industry became legendary. The 1990s saw the release of her first fully English language album – Unison, when she signed on with Epic Records. 

The timing was perfect for Celine Dion. Her voice and style suited the power ballads of the 90’s perfectly, and she had several best-selling albums, including Falling into You (1996) and Let’s Talk About Love(1997). In addition, Celine released songs that became almost immediate global No 1 hit singles, such as ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, ‘‘The Power of Love, ‘and ‘My Heart Will Go On’ – which she almost didn’t record, thankfully Rene convinced her to do it!

It would seem likely that Celine must look back on this time with sweet memories as she and Rene became engaged in 1993 and married in 1994. She was glowingly happy and healthy. Her fame grew, and along with it, an adoring, loyal, international fanbase that was falling more in love with Celine Dion each passing day

This continued into the new Millennium with the renewal of wedding vows between her and her husband Rene Angelil on 5 January 2000. She had a host of awards behind her, including a World Music Award, an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, and a few Grammy Awards and Juno Awards. After seven years of trying, unsuccessfully, to conceive, Celine booked into a fertility clinic in May 2000, where she had two minor operations to improve her chance of pregnancy through in vitro fertilization. This worked, and their first son Rene-Charles was born on 2 January 2001. The couple later had twin boys on 23 October 2010.

 Wonderfully, Rene’s throat cancer had gone into remission in 2002. Rene had then negotiated an unprecedented five nightly performances a week for three years(later extended to five years) with Caesars Palace. Celine Dion has been a genuinely groundbreaking performer, displaying enormous energy, drive, and commitment to her profession, as well as being a dedicated wife and loving Mother.

The accomplishments of Celine Dion have been far too many and diverse for them all to be mentioned here. Apart from her musical contribution, she is a Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations. She has raised money for tsunami relief and founded Nickels Food Chain, which she later sold. She is an activist for Gay rights and speaks out against racism and bullying. Celine has contracts with Coty, Inc and L’Oreal, plus she has her line of handbags and accessories. The list goes on. This is one driven and busy lady.

Apart from her difficulty in conceiving, it wasn’t until around 2014 that Celine Dion started to show signs of ill health. She developed an illness that caused inflammation in her throat muscles. Due to this, she had to cancel performances. At this time, Celine decided to take a break and care for her husband and family, as Rene’s throat cancer had returned. 

Later, in 2014, Celine had to cancel more shows as she had a viral infection in her throat. Celine must have been under intense emotional strain as she cared for her children and her husband, plus she had returned to work at her husband’s request. Sadly, their time together as one of Hollywood’s most enduring couples of more than thirty years was drawing to an end. Rene died at home on 14 January 2016. He had been in her life from when she was twelve years old. Celine was utterly empty, but she could not fall apart. She had three sons to care for. Unbearably, her brother, Daniel, died two days later.

Celine Dion only allowed herself one month to mourne before returning to the stage. She felt that that was the best way to honor her husband and help her to heal. One can only imagine the emotional pain she must have been feeling. Perhaps that was a regrettable decision made at a time of grief, as Celine lost a noticeable amount of weight and did not appear as healthy or energetic as previously.
